It was made for SCBWI Artober Day 08 for the art prompt of “silhouette.” The idea for this image is inspired by Plato’s cave and Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey. Plato’s cave was a discussion about perception and perceived reality. Does a shadow appear alive and speaking if you only see the shadow and not the person who creates the shadow? For Joseph Campbell, he discusses that on the hero’s journey, there is wise sage figure who provides the hero with needed information to move forward.
