In striving to make thoughtful decisions, it important to ask ourselves, “Is it made with LOVE?” This is the “love” from the golden rule in that it considers both self-love and care along with love for others who will be impacted by the decision.
Self-sacrifice may be good for others but is the cost worth it to the individual? Selfishness can preserve the person but will be harmful to others? Each situation is unique. We all need personal boundaries. Finding the golden rule of balanced love for a healthy life is dynamic and ever-changing.
Every decision we make is a moment of intention for our life’s creation. Our actions have consequences not just for ourselves but for others including the choice of no action. We may not always be aware of why we have made certain choices but with practice, we can make better decisions.
The question of “made with love” can give guidance when you feel indecision. Life is ever-changing along with the needs of ourselves and others. What once worked now can be harmful and needs changing. Human emotions are complex. Self-awareness of love guiding insights can help with balance. Mistakes will be made, but with grace and wisdom, we can re-evaluate and make better choices using love’s light.
