The drawing was created using colored pencils and ink on paper by Laurel Latto.  

It was made for SCBWI Artober Day 24 for the art prompt of “gothic.”

The image was inspired by the idea that people fear unknown people or places based on stories rather than lived experiences. Sometimes, that fear or story can be misplaced, leading to prejudice. Children have the ability to bring fresh perspectives.
